Modern Mediterranean interior design captures the feeling of a holiday you never want to end. Our version is something we call Moditerranean, and it’s become one of Sydney’s most recognisable home styles: curved white render, arched windows, sandstone and pools framed by palms. Inside, the look is soft, warm and tonal, with gentle curves, natural weaves and a palette of warm whites and sandy neutrals, plus a relaxed, Bali-inspired ease. We see these homes across Sydney, from new builds in Bondi, Coogee and Maroubra to family homes on the Northern Beaches, and we furnish them to do justice to their architecture, with pieces that echo every curve, arch and sunlit surface.
“Moditerranean is the feeling of walking into a beautiful villa on holiday. Everything is soft, warm and tactile, and nothing is trying too hard. If a room makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay a while, it’s working.”

Here’s how we create a relaxed Moditerranean feel throughout the home
A Moditerranean living room is all soft curves and sunlight. We often pair a curved bouclé sofa with barrel chairs and a pebble-shaped stone or timber coffee table, layered over a textured woven rug. An oversized vessel with sculptural branches and sheer linen curtains finish a room that flows straight out to the pool or courtyard.

Moditerranean kitchens are calm and natural. Stone benchtops, timber shelving and a few handmade ceramics keep the space warm and uncluttered. A woven basket or a vase of loose greenery is often all the styling it needs.

A Moditerranean bathroom feels like a villa day spa. Rendered or microcement walls, a curved vanity, a stone basin and soft, warm tapware create a calm retreat with plenty of texture.

Moditerranean bedrooms are soft and serene. A curved or upholstered bedhead, layered linen in sand and oatmeal, timber bedsides and a sculptural lamp create the kind of room you’d find in a boutique resort.

Outdoor living is central to the Moditerranean feel, and it suits Sydney’s warm summers perfectly. A long timber or stone table, woven chairs, soft outdoor lighting and potted palms or olives turn a terrace or courtyard into the best room in the house.

Curious about Moditerranean style? These are the questions we hear most.
Moditerranean is our name for modern Mediterranean interior design. It keeps the warmth, natural materials and relaxed feel of Mediterranean homes, but uses a soft, tonal palette, sculptural curves and cleaner lines. It’s calm, resort-inspired living for the way we live now.
Traditional Mediterranean style is rustic, with terracotta, aged timber and wrought iron. Moditerranean is cleaner and softer: white render, natural stone, pale timbers, warm neutrals and sculptural furniture. It keeps the warmth and curves of the Mediterranean, but feels relaxed, modern and distinctly Sydney.
They share a lot of DNA. Both are warm, relaxed and full of natural textures and greenery. Moditerranean blends that laid-back resort feel with the rendered walls, arches and curves of Mediterranean architecture, for a look that’s softer and more refined than a traditional tropical scheme.
Both are relaxed and natural, but the mood is different. Coastal style is light and breezy, drawing on blues and the colours of sea and sky. Moditerranean is warmer and more enveloping, with sandy neutrals, white render, curves and the feel of a holiday villa.
Yes. Many Moditerranean homes across Sydney come to market as new builds, and furniture that matches their curves and materials helps buyers picture the lifestyle. We style with pieces from our own collection, typically on a six-week hire, so the interiors live up to the architecture.
